Blockchain

History

In 2015, Bitfalls was created as a blockchain education company following the advent of Ethereum's launch. Focusing on explaining basic blockchain concepts and training developers how to think about the blockchain in the context of data storage and provenance, Bitfalls quickly became an authority on web3 concepts, publishing explainers and tutorials even for other publications such as the prominent SitePoint web portal.

Following this success and leaning into the demand, Bitfalls organized Bločkconf in 2017 - a blockchain conference in the North of Croatia.

The conference had a second edition in 2018 before being folded into Blocksplit, eventually ending up under the UBIK umbrella. Bitfalls then joined as a founding member of the NGO and Bitfalls CEO Bruno went on to become one of the board members. UBIK is the Croatian NGO dedicated to blockchain education for government, corporations, banks, and civilians.

In 2017, Bitfalls became a distributor for the hardware wallet provider Ledger, continuing education in self-sufficiency and helping people be their own banks, safely. This was accompanied by the launch of Coinvendor, a now defunct fiat-to-crypto on-ram.

Bruno also joined Status.im to work on the Ethereum 2.0 protocol, educating users about the coming network update and its transition from the wasteful Proof of Work system to Proof of Stake, and writing technical documentation for the Nimbus project.

In 2019, Bruno went to work with the Web3 Foundation doing technical education, writing Polkadot's wiki, and making sure people understood the concepts of that protocol and environment through workshops, videos, writeups, and conferences.

In 2020, Bruno launched RMRK, a protocol designed to take NFT technology to the next level. After a rousing success in the Polkadot ecosystem, the protocol expanded to other blockchains, even going so far as to become entrenched standards in the official EIP repository. It is now being used by dozens of studios to launch anything from reputation systems to on-chain web3 games.

Web3 Consulting

If you are considering whether or not you need to integrate blockchain into your services or company, or you need education - either on an outreach level or internally - get in touch. We excel in explaining blockchain technology in down to earth terms, but also in training developers on how to properly utilize and integrate web3 tech stacks.

As a reference, areas that might benefit from blockchain:
- payments and remittance
- data provenance
- reputation tracking
- fundraising
- censorship resistance
- downtime resistance
- turn based web3 gaming
- decentralized in-game economy

Areas which are antithetical to blockchain:
- using the blockchain as a database
- having centralized components in front of the blockchain where the blockchain can be utilized only by the owner of the centralized components
- low latency gaming (FPS)
- centralized in-game economy
- privacy
- medical records

Financial Hygiene & Investment

We will
happily advise you keeping your crypto assets safe, making sure your loved ones can access your assets if something happens to you, and how to safely use on-chain interest rates that exceed interest rates provided by banks by a factor of 1000. We will show you how to use hardware wallets, advise you on which ones to use and when, and how to back up and restore these devices. We will teach you how to use crypto wallet extensions of all types, and how to keep your computer safe from invasion.

We can give advice on investments. We will gladly advise what not to invest in, and for an extra fee we will advise what to invest in under the condition that you do not hold us accountable if you get rekt by overextending yourself, spending your children's college fund, or paperhanding a good opportunity.

Disclaimer: Bitfalls is neither a "financial advisor" nor a professional (or good) gambler. Please keep in mind that "investing" in crypto is a casino. As such, when you invest, you have no rights beyond the rights of a person walking into a casino and putting chips on red or black on the roulette table. You are not an investor, but a speculator (a gambler). Beyond what is already known as having great fundamentals (Ethereum), gambling on any other token is a speculative affair which has 50% success chance + whatever marketing and promotion the project or its proponents invest. The exception is ponzies which have a 0% success chance, and these are generally very easy for us to identify and point out, and we will gladly do so - sometimes even for free and publicly. Keep an eye on our blog.
